Professor Linda Chalker-Scott
10 & 11 September 2026

Join us Amongst the Trees for Professor Linda Chalker-Scott's highly acclaimed two-day workshop - Sustainable Landscapes; Good Science and Practical Applications.  This immersive workshop will explore soil health, the use of mulches, fertiliser applications, tree and plant selection, pruning techniques, and tree health assessment, with an emphasis on sustainable urban horticulture and arboriculture in a changing climate. 

Professor Chalker-Scott has a Ph.D. in Horticulture and is an ISA certified arborist.  She is Washington State University's Extension Urban Horticulturist and an Emerita Professor in the Department of Horticulture. She conducts research in applied plant and soil sciences, publishing the results in scientific articles, and is the award-winning author of five books. Professor Chalker-Scott is currently the editor for WCISA’s Western Arborist magazine and Editor-in-Chief for Compost Science and Utilization.

This is Professor Chalker-Scott’s first time presenting in Perth, offering a rare opportunity for arborists, horticulturists, urban foresters, planners and environmental professionals to learn directly from one of the leading voices in contemporary horticulture and arboriculture.

Join us Amongst the Trees for two days of cutting‑edge learning with world‑renowned arboriculture academic Professor Francesco Ferrini. This immersive workshop will explore tree selection, soil and root systems, urban arboriculture and forestry, biodiversity, ecosystem services, and the role of trees in creating resilient and sustainable cities — drawing on the latest international research and real‑world applications.

Professor Ferrini is a Professor of Arboriculture at the University of Florence (Italy), with more than 470 published works and presentations at over 300 international conferences worldwide.

This is Professor Ferrini’s first time presenting in Perth, offering a rare opportunity for arborists, urban foresters, planners and environmental professionals to learn directly from one of the leading voices in contemporary arboriculture.
